Planning permission granted for the erection of outbuilding within the setting of a listed building in Braintree

We recently secured planning and listed building consent for the demolition of an existing outbuilding and its replacement with a 3-bay cartlodge.

The site is located near Halstead in Braintree District and forms part of the curtilage of a Grade II listed farmhouse. The Council accepted that the principle of development was acceptable, and through a thorough design approach and supporting heritage statement, we were able to demonstrate that the proposed outbuilding would be suitable within the setting of this farmhouse.

The Council’s Historic Building Advisor, in making comments to the planning application, accepted that the proposal was acceptable.

At ADP, we have extensive historic building design experience, and have made many successful planning applications for works and alterations to historic buildings. If you require alterations to a listed building, please contact us at mail@adpltd.co.uk.
