Change of Use Planning Consent Secured to Facilitate an Expanding Business

We recently secured planning for the partial change of use of an existing commercial unit in West Mersea, Essex from a Class B8 warehouse use to a Class B1(a) office use, together with a new extension to the building. We are pleased to support the expansion of this existing local business.

We were able to make the case for the change of use by highlighting the planning policy position, and demonstrating that the economic benefits that the development would bring to this local area.

We were also able to demonstrate that the proposed extension to the building would not have any adverse impacts upon the site or the amenity of the neighbouring buildings.

The application was approved without delay by Colchester Borough Council and without any restrictive conditions. The change of use of a property is not always straightforward and would often require planning permission, although there are some exceptions, which have been established through permitted development legislation.

ADP consists of an experienced and enthusiastic team of town planners, architects and designers, who regularly undertake a variety of change of use applications. If you are seeking to change the use of an existing building, please contact us at mail@adpltd.co.uk.
