Extension of a Listed Building, Colchester

The building is a 16th and 17th Century Listed property with red brick, hipped roof, sliding sash windows with glazed bars that is also located within close proximity to a Grade I listed church and forms part of a Conservation Area.

We designed a sympathetic side extension to provide additional living accommodation that meets the needs of modern family living. The works also included the demolition of poorly designed 20th Century elements. The removal of these elements and their replacement with the proposed extension, greatly enhanced the building and better revealed its historic significance.
