Golf Course Diversification, Surrey

Our client purchased a golf club in Surrey that required investment to bring the facilities up to contemporary standards. Our client sought to also extend the appeal of golf beyond its traditional core markets and increase family participation and social inclusivity.

A D P were tasked with preparing a series of designs to meet this objective. We submitted a series of planning applications and secured planning permission for the following:

  • A single storey front extension to provide a new restaurant.

  • A first-floor extension to provide an office, fitness area, creche/nursery, and storage.

  • The erection of an extension to the main clubhouse building to create a sauna with associated changing facilities and plunge pool, with a steam room and massage facility.

  • A further extension to create a room with a trackman simulator.

  • The remodeling of the fairway into short game practice area.

  • The creation of two new target greens and enlarged practice tee.

  • The construction of golf teaching and practice bays.

The golf club is located in the Green Belt, which placed a constraint on the development potential. We were able to demonstrate that the proposed modifications demonstrated with national Green Belt policy, whilst also complimenting the character and appearance of the area.
