Public Consultation

Land East of Nayland Road, Great Horkesley

On behalf of the landowners, we are preparing an Outline Planning Application in respect of a predominantly residential development on the land surrounding Great Horkesley Manor. The proposal will include 80 houses together with:

  • Village Open Space

  • Allotments

  • Scout and Guides Hut, Storage

  • Natural biodiversity and landscape area around the Black Brook, incorporating the retention of existing belt of trees.

  • Improved connectivity to The Essex Way through the site and improvements to existing pedestrian crossing points across the A134.

This scheme is on land identified by Colchester Borough Council as their preferred location for development in the area.

A pre-design public consultation will be held in Great Horkesley’s New Village Hall on the 13th of October between 10 am and 12 noon. The presentation can be viewed here. Presentation Boards

The purpose is to gain local opinion on a range of key issues, complete a questionnaire and make any alternative suggestions for consideration for inclusion in the planning application. Representatives from ‘ADP Architecture Design Planning’ will be on hand to answer any questions.

If you are unable to attend the event, questionnaire forms and information concerning the consultation will be available from mail@adpltd.co.uk
