Securing Planning Permission on Garden Land - The Design Approach
The existing character of the area:
This part of the road is characterised characterised by rows of terraced houses, pairs of semi-detached and bungalow properties.
The houses are generally similar in style and design but there is a variation of height which gives the appearance of a mixed streetscene.
The proposal would add an extra dwelling onto the end of a pair of semi-detached properties.
The proposed dwelling has been designed to ensure a balanced appearance is maintained and to ensure that it would not look out of place in the street. Consequently, the proposal would not cause any harm to the character of the area.
As a part of the design process, great care was taken to ensure that the existing and proposed dwellings would each have sufficient parking spaces to meet local parking standards, together with a useable garden space each.
