Stable Conversion, London

The equestrian stables were located at the edge of London within the Metropolitan Green Belt.

In this instance, A D P were asked to act as the planning consultant, working with another architectural practice. We provided a planning assessment to our client that explained the policy and contextual position and set out a planning strategy for securing a favourable planning consent, despite its location within the Metropolitan Green Belt.

Given that the site falls within an equestrian use, it was not eligible for change of use under the prior notification application process. A full planning application for the change of use of the stables to residential use was therefore required.

Following the planning application submission, we engaged positively with the planning officer throughout the planning process, and the application was subsequently approved.
