Replacement Dwelling in Earls Colne, Essex

We secured planning consent for a replacement dwelling near Earls Colne, within Braintree District. The existing house suffered from a number of practical issues including: its siting; structural condition; and unsafe vehicular and pedestrian access. The proposed scheme sought to replace the existing house and create a new safe access. We engaged the Council in pre-application discussions, and following positive engagement, we developed a dwelling that is:

  • A visually more attractive house that provides a more appropriate design response taking into account the rural vernacular of the area.

  • An improved living environment for our clients.

  • An increase in natural light into the dwelling.
